Welcome to!A subreddit for all of those who love the Total War series. Torrent is totally safe. Yes, the installation order is 6.3 and then the 6.4 patch. It is very easy to install - everything just goes into a single folder in the M2TW directory called 'mods'.I'm assuming you're playing on Steam? If so, after you've finished installing Stainless Steel, right click on Medieval II in the Steam Library and go to properties - Set Launch OptionsAnd paste this exactly without quotes: '-features.mod=mods/SS6.3'Now, when you open M2TW, it will start Stainless Steel.
To play vanilla, simply delete that command from the launch options.EDIT: If you have any issues, I actually found an entire video on YouTube that guides you through the installation process step-by-step:.

Welcome to!A subreddit for all of those who love the Total War series. I have been playing stainless steel 6.4 a lot recently and after having stability issues with late game end-turn CTDs and corrupted saves did a bit of investigating.I tested AI-only campaigns on my 2 systems, one was a reasonably fast desktop and the other was my slightly ageing but still decent quadcore-ivy bridge laptop.

And one day it just stopped working with 'cannot locate kingdoms.exe in folderThats because of a Steam update. All you need to do is to change the name of one of the Kingdoms campaigns (like 'teutonic' inside mod folder) to something else then changing SS6.4 folder to that campaigns old name (to 'teutonic').

Then you can play it by selecting play Teutonic campaign from the menu.Ooor if you wish to use submods with it you can copy your medieval.exe to somewhere else renaming it to: 'kingdoms' and then copying it back to the main folder. If you do that you can open the game from the Stainless Steel launcher. This is the same for all other mods like Third Age.
